Isuzu Amigo engine
The Isuzu Amigo has been in the market for some time already. It was initially
released in the States in 1989 and stayed in the market until 1994. The first
generation Isuzu Amigo was pulled out of the US market in 1995. This segment in
the Amigo's history presented us with the one of the first mini-SUVs fitted with
a 2.3-liter carbureted or a 2.6-liter fuel injected engine in both the two-wheel
and four-wheel drive. Both engines are matched to the five-speed manual transmission.
After several years, the Amigo was once again introduced to the US market. This
time the second generation Amigos sported two different engine types, the 2.2-liter
dual-overhead-cam 4-cylinder and the twin-cam 3.2-liter V6. The first engine spouts
130 horsepower whereas the second engine type delivers an astounding 205 horsepower.
Both are available in two transmission options plus a choice between a rear-wheel
drive or a four-wheel drive.
